In many cases, you will not have an extraction tool, but you won’t need one! With a general-purpose cleaner and some water, you can remove that stain.
First, completely saturate the stain with chemical. Follow with a tamping process. This presses the chemical into the stain. Then blot with a white towel, continue to repeat these two steps until no more excess residue from the stain comes off onto the towel.
Then rinse the stain with hot water. Hot water is used because it cleans better than cold and it excites the chemical as well. Then dry the carpet as quickly as possible, either with an extractor or something as simple as a fan or blow dryer!
